SHAHBAZ ALI MALIK
Shahbaz Ali Malik started his educational journey at Cadet College Petaro in 1981 and finished in 1985 after completing his Matric. In school, he was known for his athletic skills, excelling in various sports like sprinting, hockey, football, basketball, and more.
After leaving Petaro, he went to Lawrence College Ghora Galli and completed his Intermediate in 1987. Later, he earned an MA in Economics from Sindh University in 1996 and an MBA in 1998.
Shahbaz became actively involved in his family's business, the Popular Group of Industries, in 1991. Over the years, he climbed the ranks, eventually becoming the Managing Director in 2002, a role he still holds. The Popular Group includes various businesses like fabrics, spinning mills, weaving mills, juice industries, plastics, and more.
Apart from his business role, Shahbaz has been part of different business associations, holding positions like Commissioner of PEMRA and Chairman of sub-committees at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
As an alum of Cadet College Petaro, Shahbaz has been actively involved in the Petarian Association, serving as President and contributing to its growth by establishing chapters in different universities in Karachi.
Outside of work and alumni activities, Shahbaz has also been engaged in social work. He served as the President of Serve Our Society (SOS) and held roles in organizations like The Civil Liberties Union of Pakistan and Lions Club, Pakistan.
